UN acting special representative James swan visited south west state,meeting with president laftagareen to discuss securitu,state buildibg and humanitarian aid.
Swan praised laftagareen’s efforts in fighting alshabaab and advancing state building.The UN highlighted its partnership with the state in police development and empowering women in the security sector.
The dire humanitarian situation in the region was acknowledged with over 950,000 people facing food,insecurity and almost 370,000 children suffering from malnutrition.
The UN committed to working closely with the state to address these urgent needs.
Swan emphasized the UN’s ongoing support for south wesy state in achieving its peace and development goals.
