Mogadishu,Somalia – The somali government has announced an ambitious plan to build a new airport in Mogadishu,aimed at enhancing the country’s aviation capabilities and addressing current congestion issues.Ahmed maalim hassan,the director of the somali civil aviation authority,disclosed the plans during a nationanal media weekly roundtable.
The proposed airpory,to be located in Elma,an is expected to provide comprehensive services for both local and international flights.This development comes as a significant move to alleviate the existing challeneges at the Aden Adde airport,wich has been facing issues of congestion among other problems.
According to director hassan, a thorough five-year survey has been conducted to ensure the environmental and safety suitability of the news site for airline services.
