Jubbaland state president ahmed madobe has invited federal lawmakers representing jubbaland to a construction meeting in Kismayo, following a similar call by puntland’s administration for its federal parliament representatives.
A letter from the office of the jubbaland president, issued Sunday, invited members of both houses from jubbaland to convene in Kismayo, the provisional capital, fron November 8 to 11.The meeting aims to address the ongoing political climate in Somalia and its impact on jubbaland.
The invitation came just hours after two federal ministers from jubbaland -deputy minister of education Ahmed Osman Ibrahim Daqare and minister of State for Planning and international Cooperation Abdirashid Jire Qalinle – resigned. The ministers cited escalating tensions with the federal government and accused it of stirring conflict with regional administrations, specifically SSC,Puntland and jubbaland.
On October 22,the Puntland administration similary called federal lawmakers from its constituency to garowe for discussions focusing on the widening rift with the federal government over the electroral process.
Both jubbaland and Puntland have boycotted recent National Colsultative Council meetings in Mogadishu, underscoring the deeping division with the federal administration.
